Manila Inasal

About Us

History

Our history begins in the Philippines. Manila Inasal was started in 2020 as a home business in San Juan City, Metro Manila by Chef Natalia, together with her siblings Enrique and Bella. It initially operated as a delivery service out of her home kitchen, but later expanded into a cloud kitchen in Makati. Now there is a branch in Bonifacio Global City’s Mitsukoshi Mall in the Philippines.

Then in 2023, Chef Natalia partnered with long-time family friends, the Simon family, to bring Manila Inasal to LA. Their shared love for food and friendship allowed this new venture to begin in Echo Park, Los Angeles.

Chef Natalia is the head chef and proprietor of Manila Inasal Philippines. She graduated from HRIM in 2007 from the University of the Philippines and from culinary school in Apicius, Florence, in 2010. In her professional career, she is responsible for putting up and consulting for a number of restaurants around the Philippines, such as Boracay-based restaurants Spicebird, The Sunny Side Cafe, Percy of The Sunny Side Group of Restaurants, Tomato and Basil in Puerto Princessa, Chateau Hestia in Tagaytay, among others. In Manila, she is a consultant chef for The Tasteless Food Group’s PizzaExpress, Granivore, Bookoh and Nomu, as well as Passion Cooks Catering and other Cafes and restaurants in the Metro.

What is “Inasal”?

“Inasal” means “char-grilled”–aka, barbeque! It usually refers to chicken, but Manila Inasal offers a Manileña’s take on this Bacolod-famous grilled cuisine. We serve relatable and delicious variations that expand from the traditional Inasal menu–mixing the familiar with the non-traditional, over charcoal grills.

Our Location

Serving the Filipino community not just here in Manila, but also abroad. Currently we opened a restaurant in downtown LA, which served one of the biggest Filipino community outside the Philippines.
